Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent), Grade 10 English proficiency, or successful completion of the Wonderlic or TTSAO Admission Test.
Valid Class G driver's license or higher.

All new drivers attempting the Class A road test on or after July 1, 2017 must successfully complete the mandatory entry-level training course before attempting their Class A Road Test.

Schedule an AssessmentObtaining your commercial driver's license involves several steps. Truck Training Academy of Stoney Creek will guide you through the process — here's a general overview:
Visit a DriveTest Centre or a designated registered school: Obtain the required materials, including the medical examination form and driver's handbooks you may require. You can also access the driver's handbooks online.
Study for the written knowledge tests: TTA offers Class A & D practice tests to help you prepare. "A" – Beginner's must be completed prior to beginning in-truck training.
Class A & D Practice TestComplete a medical examination: A certified physician will conduct the exam and fill out the medical report form. The Medical Certificate must be presented to the Ministry before the student will be eligible to complete any testing.
Apply for a commercial driver's license: Visit a DriveTest Centre and provide the necessary identification and documentation.
Pass a vision test: This will be administered at the DriveTest Centre. Bring any corrective lenses with you, if required.
Pay the applicable fees: Fees cover road tests and written knowledge tests. Payment can be made by cash, credit card, debit card, certified cheque, bank draft, or money order.
Complete and pass the written knowledge tests: These tests are offered at DriveTest Centres. No appointment is required — arrive at least one hour before office close to allow sufficient time.
Enroll in the mandatory entry-level training course (MELT or A-Z Program): Choose Truck Training Academy of Stoney Creek as your approved training provider!
